Carrickfergus have signed South African all-rounder Ruan Haasbroek for the 2024 season.

The 26 year-old plays first-class cricket for the newly formed Limpopo franchise having previously played for Easterns and the North West Dragons.

The stylish top-order batsman averages just under 30 with the bat in first-class and List-A cricket, while his handy off-spin is also a potent weapon. 

Ruan has previous UK experiece, making a strong start with Willington CC scorin 291 runs in six innings averaging 55 with a high score of 131 plus 10 wickets, before injury ended his campaign.

He has also extensive coaching experience and is certain to be a real asset on and off the field at Middle Road.
