Lisburn have confirmed that Adam Kennedy has joined from CIYMS.

The 20 year-old pace bowler was one of the main performers for the Cricket Ireland Academy and also CIYMS in the recent T10 tournaments, taking 22 wickets in total.

He is very highly rated in Irish cricket circles, where his height and ability to hit back of a length hard make him a truly exciting prospect.

However he found his bowling opportunities limited at Belmont, only bowling 57 overs during the 2023 season in the 17 games he played.

“We are delighted to have Adam Kennedy on board with us at Lisburn,” said new club captain Neil Whitworth.

“Adam is a young, exciting talent who is highly rated and we have no doubt he will fit in brilliantly with the guys at Wallace Park.

“His experience within the Irish Academy and pathway cricket will be invaluable as he develops and we approach towards the 2024 season.”

2022 Premiership champions Lisburn have also confirmed that David Simpson has retired from senior duty.

The Ireland A all-rounder has been a mainstay of Lisburn for over 23 seasons and his experience will be hard to replace.
