Cliftonville Academy finished seventh in the Premiership, while they enjoyed a good run in the National Cup, losing to Derriaghy in the decider.
They were probably too reliant on the 'Big Two' of Abhishek Raut and Jared Wilson in their batting. The former IPL man Raut passed the 1000 run landmark on his way to 1023 at 60.18 with an impressive strike/rate of 116.35 (2 hundreds/6 fifties).
Wilson enjoyed his maiden season at the new club on his way to 890 runs at 46.84 (1 hundred/7 fifties).
Their other centurion was Francis Collins who also made four half centuries in his 646 at 26.92, while skipper Max Burton also pased 50 four times as he made 449 at 29.93 - missing part of the campaign through injury.
No other batter passed 200 runs hinting at a severe lack of depth.
Wilson topped the bowling with 38 wickets at 16.68 - one of four bowlers to have five wicket hauls.
Raut was second, taking 32 victims at 18.81, while Ben Kane impressed with 29 scalps at 16.90.
Matty McCord had not one, but two five-wicket displays in his 27 wickets, while the fifth and final bowler in double figures was Richard Hood - 17 at 28.00.
There's no doubt that CA have quality in their ranks - they just need more of it to survive and indeed thrive in the cut-throat top echelons of the NCU.
