Bermuda remain top of the table after day two of the Americas qualifier for next year's Men's T20 World Cup, with Canada picking up their first win of the tournament.

In the opening match at White Hill Field Panama captain Laxman Gaonkar won the toss and chose to bat first. They struggled against some tight Bermuda bowling and some excellent fielding, particularly by Kamau Leverock who took a superb diving catch running in from the long-leg boundary to dismiss the Panama skipper and then, having moved into the covers for the incoming batter, ran in as the batters tried for a quick single, quickly gathering the ball and running Mahmud Jasat out with a direct hit from the very next ball.

The final total for Panama was 90-8, which Bermuda chased down in 13.5 overs to win by seven wickets. Tre Manders was their top scorer with an unbeaten 55 from 37 balls.

In the afternoon game, Canadian captain Saad Bin Zafar won the toss and chose to bat first, with his team racking up 194-6 from their 20 overs. Aaron Johnson and Harsh Thakar led the way with the bat, both scoring 47.

In the Cayman Islands reply, Brian Corbin scored 34 and Patrick Heron 26 but they were the only batters to reach double figures and the Caymans were bowled out for 86, losing by 108 runs. Nikhil Dutta was the pick of the Canadian bowlers with 4-12, with Harsh Thakar adding to his 47 by taking 3-14.

Monday is a rest day in Bermuda and play will move to the National Stadium in Hamilton on Tuesday where Canada take on Panama and Bermuda play the Cayman Islands.
