There was sad news on Thursday with the death of Colin 'Shaker' McGettigan.

Former NW Chairman and Cricket Ireland President Joe Doherty paid tribute to the Burndennett all-rounder.

"Shaker was a lovely guy who played the game for what it was worth.

"He was a very talented spinner who could also hit the ball a long way.

"This is a sad loss to the McGettigan family who are of course synonymous with cricket at Burndennett. Condolence to all the family circle.

"May his gentle soul rest in peace."
