There was no-one prouder of the Knights interpro cup and trophy double than Head Coach Simon Johnston, whose tireless efforts along with a talented backroom staff ended Leinster Lightning's 11-season domination with a first double success.
"The boys have been incredible all year and I’m delighted they have got their rewards with winning the double this year," Johnston told CricketEurope.
"The hard work they put in over the cold dark winter months and over the summer has been a credit to them.
"It’s sounds like a cliche but to us the winning part is secondary, as our big driver has always been player development and It’s been great to see a number of them recognised with getting into Irish squads.
"We have always preached that that is what the IPs are all about and probably gives us more satisfaction seeing those lads get picked at the next level."
"I’d personally like to thank the NCU for their support and the back room team we have in place with Callum Atkinson, Ian Butler, James Cameron-Dow and Stuart Thompson is as good as anything about on any circuit. We are very very lucky to have them."
