The Netherlands are out in front at the European Division One qualifier for the next Women's T20 World Cup after beating Scotland today at Desert Springs in Spain.
Put into bat, the Netherlands scored 134-7 from their 20 overs, Sterre Kalis leading the way with 68 from 55 balls. Caroline de Lange and Phebe Molkenboer then both took three wickets as Scotland were bowled out for 99, losing by 35 runs.
In the afternoong game, Italy recovered from 28-4 to post 137-5 thanks to 41 by Sharon Withange and an unbeaten 50 by Emilia Bartram. Only two French batters reached double figures as they were bowled out for 75, Kumudu Peddrick taking 4-10 in the 62 run win.
The tournament continues tomorrow with Italy playing Netherlands in the morning and France taking on Scotland in the afternoon.
