There was double cause for celebration at Stormont on Monday night as their U17s beat Muckamore to win the cup, following their Women's Premiership title earlier in the evening.

Batting first CSNI recovered from the early loss of skipper Harry Dyer to post 167 for 6.

Ryan Hunter hit 9 boundaries in a rapid 50 from only 29 balls, sharing a second wicket stand of 81 with Adam Leckey - whose 45 from 43 deliveries included 3 fours and 2 sixes.

There were runs too for Finn Lutton who thumped 2 fours and 2 maximums in his 14-ball unbeaten 27.

Josh Wilson (3-13) and Jude Keates (2-40) were best with the ball for Muckamore.

The Moylena side were never in contention during the chase after the crucial wicket of Jude Keates for 28 (5 fours).

Peter Kane battled valiantly with a run-a-ball 37, and Josh Wilson made 16, but they were bowled out for 106 with one ball remaining.

Harry Dyer, Finn Lutton, Aoife Fisher and Scott Mitchell each took two wickets, while there was one apiece for Ollie Dyer and James West in the 61-run win.

CSNI will now represent the NCU in the new All-Ireland U17 competition.
