James West claimed a stunning five wicket haul to bowl Ireland Under 19's to a remarkable comeback win against Jersey.

Pete Johnston's side got out of jail after a poor batting display saw them dismissed for just 117 - thanks primarily to Aaron McGeehan's 35.

Charlie Brennan then thumped 7 fours and a six in a whirlwind 41 from only 20 balls to take the Channel Islanders to 66 for 2 in the 13th over.

His dismissal by Carson McCullough proved the decisive moment in the contest, as they lost eight wickets for 34 to be 100 all out - West claiming five wickets, fellow CSNI player Finn Lutton claiming two, as did Merrion left-arm spinner Daniel Forkin.

Ireland claim the series 2-0, and will now embark on a four-game series in England, two of which are against the senior U19 side.
