Muckamore captain Neil Gill has spoken of his delight after his side clinched their first silverware of the season with a seven wicket win over Ballymena in the NCU T20 Trophy decider.
"We are really delighted to win the T20 Trophy as this team have been superb all year and it’s great to be able to win some silverware for the club," Gill told CricketEurope.
"It was a great chase with Ewan Wilson and Kyllin Vardhan getting us off to a great start in the power play and then Ben Calitz and Luke Allen shared a stand of 90 and we’re in total control the whole way through the chase.
"It was fantastic to watch two guys in their early twenties bringing the game home for us."
This could be the start of a memorable treble, with the National Cup decider to come and Muckamore in pole position in Senior One too, but Gill wasn't getting too far ahead of himself.
"We are 9 out of 9 in the league so hopefully we can keep the winning run going and get over the line. But the old cliche of taking each game as it comes will be our mantra in the closing weeks of the campaign."
