Fox Lodge weren’t in action at the weekend, which would have given the club an opportunity to reset after back-to-back losses against Newbuildings, the second of which quashed their hopes of retaining the senior cup.

“We are looking forward to taking on Coleraine tonight in the Eric Cooke semi-final which gives us an opportunity to bounce back,” said captain Aaron Heywood.

“We were so disappointed with our displays against Newbuildings, feeling we didn’t really give a true account of ourselves. We will put that behind us and there’s certainly still a lot to play for between now and the end of the season. That starts tonight with the chance to get to a final and pick up some more silverware.

“We then have a local derby against Strabane and we want to get back to winning ways. It’s not so much a case of turning things around as up to those losses we had been playing some excellent cricket. We will be looking to get back to the basics which served us so well up to that point, looking to build a bit of momentum again.

“Saturday gives us a chance to start climbing the table again at Strabane. It promises to be an exciting last two months of the season, and hopefully we will be right there in the mix.”

Strabane have the chance to put their recent woes behind them as they host Eglinton in the semi-final of the Eric Cooke Cup. The Red Caps batting was found wanting in their loss to Ardmore, with Nasir Nawaz scoring 94 of their 143 total – taking his season aggregate to 654.

Then on Saturday, they will be hoping the competitiveness of a local derby will get their juices flowing once more. With the top eight securing a Premiership berth, the gap is already a wide one as the club are in 11^th place. They will likely need to win at least four or five of their last six games to make the cut. A tall order, but no better place to start than at the Park against Fox Lodge.
