Bready’s Gavin Roulston was in the runs as the North West Under 17 side got their interprovincial season up and running with a convincing 100-run (DLS) win over Munster in Belfast.

The left-hander top-scored with 152 from 122 balls, hitting 14 fours and clearing the ropes six times, sharing a whopping third wicket stand of 251 in 36 overs with Lealand McElwee.

The Glendermott opener’s unbeaten 104 saw Kevin Martin’s side end on 323 for 5.

Munster in reply were struggling on 76 for 8 in the 22nd over when rain halted play. The wickets were shared, with three apiece for Abdul Qayyum and Sam Haslett, plus two for Jake Montgomery.

The U15’s lost by 44 runs to the NCU at Beechgrove, but there was better news for the U15 girls who won both their matches at The Rectory.

The Bready trio of Jodie Spence, Mansi Bhavsar and Sophie Hamilton all in the runs as they closed out a narrow 7-run win in the first game.

Millie Spence, Bhavsar and Hamilton were also in the runs in an exciting chase by the hosts, winning in the last over by six wickets.
