Pembroke and Trinity all-rounder Gavin Hoey played a starring role as MCC defeated Cambridge University in a three-day game at Fenners.
He claimed two wickets in the first innings as the students were bowled out for 205.
With the bat, he then scored a swashbuckling 41 from just 38 balls, hiting three fours and clearing the ropes four times as MCC built a 149-run lead.
In the second innings, the leg-spinner twirled down 25 overs, taking four wickets for 84 runs as Cambridge were dismissed for 238.
The MCC duly wrapped up a convincing 8-wickets win.
Hoey has been mentioned as a future Irish international, and with these sort of displays, it may be sooner than later.
