The Netherlands have booked their place in the Super Six stage of the men's World Cup qualifier after beating Nepal today in Harare.

Dutch captain Scott Edwards won the toss and put Nepal into bat. A few Nepali batters got starts but none went on to make a big score with Rohit Paudel's 33 their top score. Logan van Beek led the Dutch bowling attack with 4-24 - his career ODI best - as Nepal were bowled out for just 167.

The Netherlands started their run chase quickly with openers Max O'Dowd and Vikramjit Singh scoring 86 before Singh fell in the 13th over. Wesley Baressi fell cheaply but O'Dowd and Bas de Leede kept the runs flowing with a 62 run third wicket partnership which ended when O'Dowd was bowled for 90 by Gulsan Jha.

De Leede - a rare county professional involved in this tournament - scored an unbeaten 41 as the Dutch completed their run chase in 27.1 overs, winning by 7 wickets. The win secured their place in the Super Six stage, and also eliminated Nepal, meaning that the place of Zimbabwe and West Indies was also secured.

The Netherlands still have one more group stage match left, against West Indies. Nepal will have two more matches to come in the play-offs for 7th-10th place.
