NW Premiership: Bready beat Ardmore by 1 wicket
Ardmore 182/7 (40 overs; Rachit Gaur 59, Sabib Babu 29*; Jordan McCorkell 3-31, Kyle Magee 2-23)
Bready 186/9 (39.3 overs; Gavin Roulston 37, David Rankin 34, Kyle Magee 25, Mervyn Magee 20; Conor Brolly 3-37, Caolan Young 3-43, Edrees Kharotai 2-34)
Matches between these sides have been close, nervy affairs in recent years, and this one was no different as Bready ended Ardmore's unbeaten Premiership record with a one-wicket last over win.
The last pair of David Scanlon and Aaron Cooke needed 9 off 10 balls and managed to get them with the skipper finding the match winning boundary with the scores tied.
It was a game that ebbed and flowed throughout with Ardmore skipper Rachit Gaur's injury meaning he could only manage 2.5 overs. With Harry Zimmermann also hors de combat the Bleachgreen side's bowling stocks were depleted.
Bready of course were also without overseas professional Irosh who has been unwell this week, and to win without his influence is testament to the battling qualities of the Magheramason side.
It's shaping up to be a thrilling Premiership battle and you get the feeling there will be further twists and turns before the season ends.
