NEIL ROCK led his Northern Knights to a seven-wicket victory over the North-West Warriors at the Mardyke on Thursday to complete a clean sweep of three wins at the inaugural Cork T20 InterPro Festival.
Rock, who plays his club cricket for Rush, struck 79 not out as the Knights racked up their record score of 236-3 in their opening clash with Leinster Lightning on Tuesday, and was victorious again against Munster Reds in a match reduced to 12 overs by a swarm of bees.
The Warriors were also buzzing after winning their opening two games but a total of 164-9 was at least 20 under par against the Knights - despite a top score of 39 from Ireland international Stephen Doheny - and the Belfast-based side got home in 16.1 overs.
Munster, the defending champions, rallied in the wooden spoon clash to beat Leinster by five wickets, chasing down a modest 157-5, also with 23 balls to spare.
Meanwhile, Andy Balbirnie and his Ireland squad will fly to Zimbabwe today to prepare for the final World Cup qualifying tournament which starts on June 19.
Ireland face Oman, Scotland, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates in the initial Group stage, with the top three teams going forward to a Super Six.
