Holders Fox Lodge were the first team through to the quarter-finals as they brushed aside the challenge of Bonds Glen to romp home inside ten overs.

“We were excellent in all disciplines on Saturday with our opening bowlers Adam Walker and Ramey Harpur setting the tone with a combined seven wickets really put the Bee Gees under pressure,” said skipper Aaron Heywood. “The total was chased down with not too much fuss by the batting unit. We are definitely showing some good form at the minute in the longer format.

The Hills await Heywood’s charges on Saturday and it gives an opportunity to atone for a horror display against the same opposition last season.

“Hopefully we can put a few things right after an embarrassing and disappointing performance last year. We hope to give a much truer and better account of ourselves this time around.

“We are coming off the back of a few good performances in the longer format with most of the team contributing and that will give everyone confidence ahead of a challenging tie.”
