HAT-TRICK HERO GETS BREADY OFF TO WINNING START

It was a perfect start for Bready and their captain David Scanlon who got the first hat-trick of the season as the Magheramason side claimed a maximum point win at home to Killyclooney.

The visitors had made a solid start reaching 35 for 0 before ‘Sca’ removed professional Blayde Capell, Kenzie Hall and Timmy Dougherty to set his side well on their way to the emphatic win.

“25 points first up is a great start to the season,” said the Bready skipper as his 12th season at the helm couldn’t have gone much better. “The weather played ball and the track was good so it was a great day. It was the icing on the cake to get the hat-trick. I don’t think I’ve ever got one before so that was a first.

“We still have a few players to come in but the two debutants – Jordan McCorkell and Kyle Magee – did really well. We used nine bowlers so it was a good day to breed them in as we will need that depth throughout the season.”
