Thailand have followed their clean sweep of the three match ODI series over Zimbabwe with a 2-1 series win in the T20I series, initially set for four games but reduced to three, with all games played at the Terdthai ground in Bangkok.
In the opening game, Zimbabwe picked up their first win of the tour, scoring 143-4 with Sharne Mayers scoring an unbeaten 71. Audrey Mazvishaya then took 4-27 to bowl the home team out for 119-9 to secure the 24 run win.
Runs were harder to come by in the second game with only two Zimbabweans reaching double figures as they scored 103-9 from their 20 overs with Nattaya Boochatham taking three wickets for just seven runs. Nannapat Koncharoenkai top scored in the Thai run chase with an unbeaten 39 as they completed a five wicket win with three balls to spare.
Zimbabwe again batted first in the deciding game, this time scoring 111-6. Onnicha Kamchomphu was the pick of Thailand's bowlers with 3-20. Thailand had little trouble chasing their target, winning by 8 wickets in 16.4 overs, Natthakan Chantham scoring an unbeaten 56.
The series will have served as useful preparation for Thailand's campaign in the upcoming South East Asian Games in Cambodia where they are set to chase medals in 50-over cricket and T20I cricket.
