RUSH
- Captain: Nathan McGuire
- Overseas player: Llew Johnson (New Zealand)
- Players in: Nathan McGuire, Cian Egerton
- Players out: none
- Young players to watch: Cian Egerton, Finn McGee, Andrew Doheny
There is a new captain at Rush for the 2023 season with Nathan McGuire taking the armband after returning from Glendermott.
Prolific run scorer Llew Johnson returns after his successful season last time out, while Cian Egerton joins after being abroad. He was four years in Australia and the arrival of the all-rounder will add to the depth and quality of the Kenure club.
Johnson scored almost 1200 runs in 19 games and is a great influence on the youngsters at the club who look up to the affable Kiwi.
Other young players to watch are Finn McGee and Andrew Doheny.
"We are just looking to build on the progress from last year and the lads have all been working hard and looking well in pre-season," skipper McGuire told CricketEurope.
"We have quite a young team so we will be looking to play an exciting brand of cricket.
"Having Neil Rock will be great for me and the club. Everyone knows what a quality players 'Pebs' is and I'm backing him and Llew to score heavily this year."
Rush begin the season on the road this Saturday (April 29) with T20 clashes away against Malahide and The Hills.
