It's a journey into the unknown for Civil Service who have been promoted to the Championship and the club know it will be tough but it's an experience they intend to make the most of.
"We are delighted to see our first team playing senior league cricket again – the last time Civil Service played league cricket at this level was 1944," said a club spokesperson.
"Our first team have had a very successful run over the last two seasons and the players are really looking forward to taking their chance to play at this level.
"We are aware that our task will be tough, but the team have been working hard and are looking forward to the challenge.
"We have a lot of talented players in the group, hopefully we can cause a few surprises along the way. Whatever happens we will enjoy the experience."
It's a tough baptism as they start in the T20 Cup with away games at Balbriggan and Clontarf on Saturday (April 29).
