It was a disappointing 2022 for Cregagh who were relegated from the top flight but are quietly confident of an immediate return to the top echelons of NCU cricket.

Danny Cooper is captain for the 2023 season, and while the club have opted not to engaage an overseas player they do have one new face.

Paul Douglas jojns from Coleraine and he will find a settled squad with no departures.

Max Shannon is their young player tipped to make an impact. He is a tall, fast bowler who performed well last season and the club are confident he will continue to flourish.

"The ethos of the club is to work hard on and off the field," said captain Danny Cooper.

"We were disappointed with last season but this is a fresh challenge and we will be all the stronger for a season in the Premiership.

"We will continue to develop as a club with everyone mucking in and helping.

"The new season is always an exciting time and hopefully 2023 will bring success for the club."

Cregagh start the new season on Saturday (April 22) with an away day trip to Laurelvale.
