It was a busy close season on and off the field at Muckamore who have strengthened their squad considerably for the forthcoming campaign.

Neil Gill is at the helm once again as skipper, and he welcomes a quartet of new faces which will add greatly to the depth and quality of his squad.

Vinoth Srinivasan, Sathish Suresh, experienced off-spinner Trevor Britton, and Canadian youth international Ben Calitz have all made their way to Moylena.

There are no outgoings from the squad that finished last season, and the club have identifed Ewan Wilson, Luke Allen, Ben Calitz, and Arnold Oduvelil as young players worth keeping an eye on as the season progresses.

"We are looking forward to getting the season underway after a long cold winter," captain Neil Gill told CricketEurope.

"We have four new players that will strengthen us in all aspects. They will add depth to our batting and bringing Ted and Vino in along with young Arnold, we have three good spin options along with a strong seam attack.

"Section One is a tough and competitive league and we learned a lot from our mistakes last season.

"The club in general is buzzing which is great to see so let’s hope for a successful 2023 for all the Muckamore teams."

Muckamore start their season on Saturday with a home game against Saintfield, with the fixture being switched to Moylena.
