DONEMANA

  • Captain: To be confirmed
  • Overseas professional: Roy Kaia
  • Players in: David O'Sullivan
  • Players out: None
  • Young player to watch: DJ Dougherty

2022 wasn't the best of seasons for Donemana, and the start to 2023 has been a traumatic one for the club with a number of sad bereavements, including Ivor Dougherty and Ash Buchanan.

They have still to confirm their captain for the new campaign, with the AGM being postponed three times.

They have two new additions with fomer Zimbabwean Test player Roy Kaia joining, as well as David O'Sullivan.

O'Sullivan is Australian born with Irish heritage and has played county cricket second XI cricket.

The club have high hopes that DJ Dougherty continues his cricket development and cements a place in the senior set-up.

"We’re looking forward to start of the season, we’ll be welcoming Roy and David to the club and we’re hoping they can help us bring in some silverware this year," said a club spokesperson.

"The rest of the squad remains the same we had a few issues with availability with work commitments / injuries last year but we feel we’re in a better position this year to cope with that.

"The last few weeks haven’t been easy losing a friend and a team-mate in Ash Buchanan, while the death of Ivor Dougherty was another blow for the club.”

Donemana start their season on April 29th with an away trip to Bonds Glen.
