First up on Finals day it was the First versus Second clash between CIYMS and Dreux for direct entry to the Final. CIYMS batted first and posted 125/6 in their allotted ten overs, Jason van der Merwe with the top score of 38, Carson McCullough 28 and John Matchett 24*. But it took a final over blitz from Allen Coulter who scored 21 off 6 deliveries to get them to, what for them, was a below par total.

Following their 189 total against Hornchurch last night Dreux would have been confident that 126 was well within their reach and so it proved. Despite losing yesterday's centurion Hamza Niaz for only 7, Ahmad Nabi (28) and Mohammad Nisar (22) kept Dreux just about in touch, but CI were favourites with 55 required off the final 4 overs. However Muhammad Rafah was still there swinging, as the equation became 37 required off 3 overs. Carson McCullough then claimed a wicket, but his over cost 22, including two wides, and a high no ball despatched for 6, as was the free-hit, making it 3 consecutive sixes from Rafah. Jacob Mulder bowled Rafah in the 9th over, but his 38 off 12 deliveries (1x4, 5x6) left Allen Coulter with the improbable task of defending 2 runs in the final over. A 3 wicket defeat for the previously unbeaten Irish champions that left them requiring that second chance get a rematch with the French in the Final.

The Elimintor that would decide CIYMS' opponents in Qualifier 2 saw reigning champions Pak-I-Care batting first against Hornchurch and struggling from the off as the English champions bounced back from their demolition by Dreux last night. The writing was on the wall for Pak-I-Care when openers Muhammad Babar was dismissed for 0 and Daniel Doyle Calle followed for just a single. They survived into the 10th over, but could muster only 78, as Mark James claimed 4-12, Harry Hankins 2-3, and Gavin Griffiths 2-20.

Hornchurch lost big hitting Paul Murray without scoring, but fellow opener George Hankins batted through the innings to finish 25 not out, with namesake Harry scoring a quick 29 to add to his earlier couple of wickets.

Hornchurch got over the line in the 8th over, claiming a 7 wicket win and the right to face CIYMS later in the day.

Qualifier 2 saw CIYMS post another, modest for them, 112/5 in their ten overs, with Jason van der Merwe again top scorer with 32, while Chris Dougherty added 26 and Carson McCullough 23, all three of them facing an identical 13 deliveries.

CI's total immediately looked in danger as skipper John Matchett's opening over went for 23 - including a Six off a No-ball and another Six off the Free-hit that followed.

Matchett repaid some of the debt however with a direct hit run out of Harry Hankins for 0 in the closest of decisions.

But Hornchurch were not to be denied as the left-handed Paul Murray peppered the team tents, while Jalpesh Vijay favoured the bushes and trees on his leg side. With McCullough's 7th over going for 20 and Mulder's 8th for 19, victory was achieved even before Allen Coulter had a chance to bowl his second over. Murray finished 43 off 21 balls while Vijay scored 44 off just 17, as Hornchurch won by 7 wickets to set up a Final which would be a repeat of last night's amazing match that saw Dreux win by 124 runs.

LIghtning doesn't strike twice they say, but it nearly did! Dreux rattled up 88 off the first 5 overs last night and were only 2 runs short of that mark tonight, with the crowd's favourite Ahmad Nabi blasting 34 off only 9 deliveries. However they could only manage another 45 off the second five, and ended their innings on 131/5, Mohammed Nisar top scorer with 48 off 23.

The Hornchurch chase was in trouble in the first over when Tabish Bhatti bowled George Hankins with his second delivery, and had Jalpesh Vijay caught for 0 two balls later. He claimed a third wicket bowling the dangerous Paul Murray in his second over, finishing with 3 for 6. With Usman Khan taking 3-13 there was no way back for Hornchurch, and Dreux could even afford to drop Harry Hankins when he was only 6 on his way to top score with 30. He was out to the final delivery of the final over, a wicket for Ahmad Nabi that was well received by the spectators, who had been chanting his name throughout most of the innings.

Hornchurch finished the match on 69/8 to give Dreux a 62 run win and the title of European T10 'Kings' 2023.
