In a further blow to the domestic schedule, there are huge cuts planned for the 2023 youth interprovincial series.

With Cricket Ireland once again in a difficult financial situation the series will be cut by 50%.

Instead of playing both T20 and 50 overs competitions at Under 15 and Under 17 level, the 2023 edition won't see any T20s played.

Leinster completed the double in 2022, winning all 12 games in the tournaments.

It's a sad situation, but with so much being ploughed into the senior sides, and huge amounts being paid to the administrators, there seems to be little left for cricket below the elite level.

Cricket Ireland's financial plight will be much improved in 2024 when ICC funding increases by an estimated $5 million dollars, although much of the increase in the first year will have to go towards loan repayments to the Dubai based organisation.
