Former Irish international Andrew Poynter has been appointed Head Coach of Clontarf.
The 35 year-old former international enjoyed an illustrious playing career at Castle Avenue and has been coaching extensively since retiring from Ireland after the 2016 T20 World Cup in India.
"I am really honoured, proud and excited about taking on men’s head coach at Clontarf CC<" Poynter told CricketEurope.
"We have a young exciting group of players with some quality proven experienced guys that are all set on winning some silverware this year.
"My plan is to help those players reach that goal. It’s a nice time in my life to take a step back from playing and take on coaching responsibilities."
One new face for Poynter to work with is Ireland Academy player Ryan Karunakaran, who is coming to Dublin to play in an effort to further his Irish ambitions.
He made an impression in the Future Series, being the competition's second highest run scorer behind Tim Tector in 2022, making three half centuries in his 261 runs at 32.62.
"Ryan is a really exciting prospect and delighted that he is joining the Clontarf squad for the upcoming season.
"I have heard lots of positives about him as a player and as a person. His story sounds similar to mine so really looking forward to helping him live out his cricket dreams."
