Sussex and England Lions off-spinner Jack Carson has impressed on their recent two-match Test Series against Sri Lanka A.

The 22 year-old took four wickets in the opening Test and followed that up with 1-30 and 4-94 in the drawn second Test.

Carson, who plays for Sussex in the County Championship was named as the 'Best Bowler in the Series' for his nine wickets at 33.

Former England spinner Graeme Swann has been working as a consultant with the England Lions spinners.

Waringstown born Carson played international youth cricket for Ireland, but on this impressive form it may not be too long before he earns a senior cap for England, following in the footsteps of Eoin Morgan and Boyd Rankin.
