Leinster Cricket Club is based in the heart of Rathmines, Dublin. Founded in 1852, Leinster CC is one Ireland’s oldest clubs, with a rich history in both the Men’s and Women’s games. The club
has over 400 members, from 4 years old to 80 years old.
The Women’s section in Leinster is one of the biggest in Ireland, with 4 teams being entered into
the Leinster leagues in 2023. The club works hard to retain players, attract new players, and to
create a fun, safe environment for all members. Performance is also a top priority, especially in
Division One, where our 1st’s have been champions in 4 of the last 5 years.
Our youth section has over 250 members, all training and playing matches throughout the
summer. We have a Girls’ team in every league, and continue to work hard to increase the
numbers of Girls playing cricket, with outreach projects to local Girl’s schools.
The Women’s & Youth Committees are delighted to announce the role of Women’s & Girl’s Head
Coach. We see this as an important investment in the growth of our female programmes, and a
commitment to the current members and the continued success of the club. Player-Coach
applications are very welcome.
Job Description:
The Head Coach is primarily responsible for ensuring that Women’s and Girl’s training sessions
are planned, coordinated, organised and run at a high standard, maximising participation,
enjoyment, inclusion and technical development. The Head Coach will also attend all Women’s &Girl’s Youth matches, to run warm ups, monitor player’s performances, and give advice and
instruction where appropriate.
The Head Coach is expected to perform their duties in accordance with the Club’s philosophy.
This philosophy is centred around inclusion and enjoyment, where cricketers are encouraged and supported to develop and improve.
The role will also require the Coach to assist our Men’s and Boy’s Director of Cricket with training and matches of one of the youth Boy’s teams. The coach will also manage and attend school visits and work with the youth section for a number of summer camps.
Contract Duration:
29th April 2023 until 10th September 2023 (20 weeks).
Candidate must be eligible to work in Ireland with appropriate visa (if applicable)
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the organising and the conducting of Senior Women’s (twice per week unless circumstances prevent, in which case an alternative plan must be implemented) in
consultation with the Women’s Committee. - Responsible for the organising and conducting the Youth Girl’s Pre-Season and In-Season Training in consultation with the Youth Committee and Youth Director of Coaching.
- Attendance at all Women’s Division 1 & Division 2 matches and Girl’s matches. Attending as many Division 3 & Social team matches as possible subject to training requirements.
- Attendance designated Youth Boy’s matches, when required.
- Ensure training is of a high standard that both provides quality outcomes for players as well as methods that are in line with the Club’s values and ethics, and provides an enjoyable environment for players to participate in.
• Ensure that training is organised, well planned and expectations are clearly communicated to players.
• Manage the selection of teams, in consultation with captains and team managers and notify players through the club app.
• Communicate with the Committee at regular intervals (minimum once per month – formal or informal).
• Duties are expected to be performed in line with the values and ethics of Leinster Cricket Club.
• Work with the Women’s Committee, Youth Committee, Youth Director of Cricket.
• Assist in Organising and managing two summer camps.
If Player-Coach
• Skill level required to play at Cricket Leinster Women’s League Division 1 standard.
Skills Required
• Excellent organisation and planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Be approachable and flexible.
• Minimum Level 2 Coaching Accreditation. Level 3 highly advantageous.
• Can demonstrate previous coaching experience. Experience of coaching Women’s and Girl’s teams highly advantageous.

• A flexible remuneration package is available depending on the candidate and relevant
experience.
