It's been a busy close season at Belmont with plenty of ins and outs. The latest addition is Theo van Woerkom.
Van Woerkom is an Irish passport holding left-arm spinner, who has represented the Kiwis at the 2012 Under 19 World Cup, and also played at A level, facing India.
Now 29, he seems to have accepted that his chances of senior representative honours in his native country are slim, and is keen to push his case for Irish recognition.
He has a modest first-class record with Canterbury, averaging 20 with the bat, while his 49 wickets at the level come at just under 40 apiece.
His signing fills the void left by the departure of spinners James Cameron-Dow (Waringstown) and Jacob Mulder (North Down).
With influental skipper Nigel Jones also moving on to Lisburn, it's a time of change for the Belfast side who picked up an impressive haul of trophies in 2022, including All-Ireland and NCU cup doubles.
