Ireland will play its first Test match in nearly four years when they tour Bangladesh in March and April.

As well as the Test, the Irish will play three ODI's and T20I's, as well as a warm-up game on the month-long tour.

Ireland have lost all three Tests they have played, with the last against England at Lord's in July 2019.

They are also due to play Tests in Sri Lanka at the end of April as well as a return to Lord's in June.

“Under the Future Tours Programme we will be playing a great deal of cricket in Asia, so these matches are valuable experiences for our players’ development," said Richard Holdsworth.

"It's also an opportunity to get an insight into the team we will be playing in our last World Cup Super League matches in May.

“While the white-ball fixtures will be keenly watched, undoubtedly most interest will be in the Test Match at the backend of the tour. Our return to playing Test cricket is very welcome, and it will be the first of a few Tests in 2023.”
