Ireland's batting failed to fire as they went down by six wickets to Bangladesh in their first T20 World Cup warm-up game in Guyana.
The Irish struggled to cope with the Bangladesh spin attack, with Rumana Ahmed's three wicket haul reducing them to 26 for 5.
It wasn't all doom and gloom as Kim Garth showed she is on the way back after a year of injury concerns, and the Pembroke all-rounder hit four of her side's seven boundaries as she top scored with 35 from 38 balls.
Her efforts saw Ireland mount a recovery of sorts to finish on a modest 84 for 7 - Gaby Lewis (15), Shauna Kavanagh (10) and Eimear Richardson (10*) the other double figure contributors.
Bangladesh then looked set for an emphatic win as they reached 37 without loss in the sixth over, but Lucy O'Reilly's run out of Sultana raised the Irish spirits.
Garth (3-4) then took three wickets in five balls in a superb burst as Bangladesh slumped to 38 for 4.
However, Ireland were unable to take any further wickets, as Bangladesh closed out a six wicket win.
Ireland used eight bowlers, with Merrion's Celeste Raack making his first appearance in Irish colours, although there was no contribution with bat or ball for her Anglesea Road colleague Isobel Joyce.
The Girls in Green have one further warm-up game against Sri Lanka in Antigua on Wednesday, before they start the tournament proper with a clash against Australia next Sunday.
Their other group games see them face Pakistan, India and New Zealand.
