Denmark coach Jeremy Bray was a delighted and relieved man as Malaysia failed to overhaul their NRR against Bermuda to give the Danes the second promotion slot.

In an incredible week, the tournament had numerous twists and turns, but it was Uganda and Denmark who take the step up.

The former Irish international reflected on the highs and lows of the week, and was proud of the brand of cricket played by his young charges in Kuala Lumpur.

"It certainly was an amazing turn of events," said Bray. "It just shows how anything can happen in cricket and especially associate cricket.

"On Saturday we batted far too negatively on what was an amazing batting pitch where 300 should have been par. I think our middle order took Vanuatu for granted and we thoroughly deserved to be beaten. Our spin bowlers did a fantastic effort to bring the game to the last over which helped limit the damage to our run-rate.

"I think overall we deserved to go through. We played 85% excellent cricket combined with 15% average cricket. That I put down to inexperience and lack of big game matches.

"We had five debutants and most of our squad is under 23 years of age.

"I am delighted to get promotion as a lot of planning and preparation has gone into this tournament.

"Full credit must go to the players, support staff and DCF who have stood behind myself and the players through good and not so good times."

The venue for the World Cricket League Division Three is yet to be confirmed, but it could well be Los Angeles.
