Jersey will be thanking the rain gods tonight as they escaped from almost certain defeat when rain ended their game against Uganda with Uganda having faced 19.4 overs.
Jersey found themselves in trouble when they could only manage 126 after being put in by Uganda, a knock of 66 by Ben Stevens their only innings of note. Mohammed Irfan continued his fine run of form by taking 4-26, Bilal Hasan also chipping in with 3-21.
Rain initially came after 8.4 overs of Uganda's chase, with 15 overs being lost, giving Uganda a DLS adjusted target of 105 in 35 overs. The rain came again after 19.4 overs with Uganda on 55-3 - just ahead of the 20 over DLS par score.
There was also rain at the Royal Selangor Club where hosts Malaysia were taking on Bermuda. Malaysia surprisingly went against the conventional wisdom that it's best to chase on the final day of round-robin play of a World Cricket League tournament with net run rate on the agenda and chose to bat first.
They scored 228-8 from their 50 overs, Shafiq Sharif top scoring with an unbeaten 47 batting at number 8. Cejay Outerbridge was the pick of Bermuda's bowlers with 4-46.
Bermuda were on 55-2 when rain ended their chase after 17 overs.
Both games will be replayed from the start tomorrow, with the play-off round cancelled.
