Uganda and Denmark today had one of those matches that makes one wonder why the ICC don't make live video coverage of the World Cricket League available as they played out a thrilling climax at the Kinrara Academy Oval.

Danish captain Hamid Shah won the toss and put his opponents in to bat first. The Ugandan innings was a tale of two partnerships, first between Hamu Kayondo and Brian Masaba as they put on 79 for the third wicket before Kayondo was out for 51, the top score in the Ugandan innings.

Masaba batted on, eventually being the seventh man out having scored 47. This brought Kenneth Waiswa to the crease to join Fred Achelam. The young pair - 19 and 17 respectively - put on 58 in just five overs for the eighth wicket before Achelam was out for 39.

Waiswa finished the innings unbeaten having scored 37 from just 17 balls in Uganda's total of 215-8.

Denmark lost their first two wickets with just seven runs scored before Freddie Klokker and Hamid Shah steadied the ship with a 57 run partnership for the third wicket. The rain that had been threatening for most of their innings came with Denmark reasonably well set on 74-3 after 23.4 overs.

After the interval, Denmark were given a DLS adjusted target of 131 in 29 overs. Shah was out for 37 - Denmark's top score, shortly after the resumption, but Denmark were still looking set for a win, especially after they scored 14 in the 27th over to leave them needing 12 from 12 balls.

Henry Ssenyondo started the penultimate over badly with two wides, and whilst he did take a wicket he conceded seven runs leaving Denmark needing five from the last with four wickets in hand. It looked like a formality, but Uganda had other ideas.

Anique Uddin was run out coming back for a second run from the first ball of the over, before Basit Raja was trapped lbw by Roger Mukasa - bowling his first over in the match - from the second ball. A dot ball and a single followed, before Mads Henriksen holed out to Mohammed Irfan to leave Denmark needing three from the last ball.

Bashir Shah pushed the ball into a gap, but a good stop and throw from Frank Nsubuga to the keeper saw him run out coming back for a second and securing a remarkable one run win for Uganda.

The two teams now sit atop the table with three wins each from their four games, both knowing that wins in Saturday's final round-robin games will see them secure promotion. Denmark will be taking on Vanuatu, whilst Uganda play Jersey.
