Denmark beat Jersey by seven wickets in a rain-affected battle in Kualu Lumpur to make it two wins from two in the battle for promotion.

Jersey however felt aggrieved due to what they said were unfit ground conditions following a torrential downpour at the Royal Selangor Club which led to a two and a half hour stoppage.

Denmark at that juncture were well placed at 55 for 0 in 13 overs and the DLS equation left them needing a further 59 from ten overs on the resumption.

Jersey battled bravely but the Danes got over the line with seven balls to spare - Freddie Klokker (39) and Zameer Khan (38) leading the chase.

Earlier half centuries from Nat Watkins and Ben Stevens had put Jersey in a strong position, but the failure to accelerate sooner was to prove costly.

Watkins earned the Man-of-the-Match accolade for his 86 from 111 balls (8 fours, 1 six). as he shared a 101 partnership with Ben Stevens.

Stevens hit 9 fours and 2 sixes in his 69 after Watkins and Peter Gough (21) had put on an opening stand of 52 in almost 15 overs.

Denmark's bowlers stuck to their task well, with two wickets apiece from Bulow, Ahmad and Shah.

A final total of 238 for 6 was felt to be slightly below par, although the intervention of the deluge meant this theory was never tested over the full course of the contest.

The teams get a day to recover, and the European sides will welcome the chance to recharge their batteries after two days in tough conditions.
