Tom Sole took four wickets in an inspired Man of the Match spell as Scotland beat Hong Kong by four wickets in a low scoring encounter in Bulawayo.
Batting first Hong Kong openers Nizakat Khan (26) and Aizaz Khan (17) added 46 before the wheels fell off their innings in spectacular fashion.
On a track assisting the spinners, the 21 year-old showed no nerves in just his third ODI wreaking havoc on his way to a haul of 4 for 15 as the Asian side were skittled for just 91, losing 10 wickets for 45 runs as they couldn’t stop the Scottish surge.
Mark Watt took 2 for 23, while Ali Evans wrapped up the tail claiming 3 for 19.
Any thoughts that Scotland would ease to a rapid win were quickly dispelled as they too found the conditions troubling against the all-spin Hong Kong attack.
The Scots lost six wickets before getting over the line, thanks primarily to an unbeaten 41 from skipper Kyle Coetzer and 22 from George Munsey.
Ehsan Khan (3-29) and Ehsan Nawaz (2-24) were best with the ball for Hong Kong.
Scotland will attempt to make it three from three when they face Nepal on Thursday, while Hong Kong will have to beat Afghanistan to keep their hopes alive of making the Super Sixes.
