Looking at Namibia's performance in this Under-19 World Cup, one would not think that they were the top performing associate in the previous edition of the tournament.
Again they turned in another poor performance at this year's tournament and were defeated easily by Zimbabwe. They batted first after winning the toss and promptly lost their first wicket without a run being scored, and their second with just one run on the board.
Eben van Wyk top scored for them with 24, one of only four players able to reach double figures in their total of 113. Zimbabwe shared the bowling duties, and the wickets, around, with eight bowlers used and six of them taking at least one wicket.
Zimbabwe's reply initially looked to be going the same way as the Namibian innings as they too lost their first wicket without a run being scored, and their second soon afterwards. But they held things together with a third wicket partnership of 72 between Wesley Madhevere and Alistair Frost.
Madhevere was their top scorer with 47, and he helped his team secure a seven wicket win and a place in the plate semi-finals in just 19.3 overs.
Zimbabwe will play their plate semi-final on Thursday, with Namibia also in action on that day with their 13th place semi-final.
