Namibia's attempt to reach another Under-19 World Cup Quarter Final was dealt another blow today as they were beaten by England at the Queenstown Events Centre.

Surrounded by some spectacular scenery at what has to be one of the most picturesque cricket grounds in the world, Namibian captain Lohan Louwrens won the toss and chose to bat first. Louwrens opened the innings with Jurgen Linde, and the pair put on 42 before Linde was out in tenth over.

Louwrens was out three overs later, in which time only four runs had been added to the score. This slow pace continued, with Nicol Loftie-Eaton the only batsman to show any real impetus with 36 from 39 balls. Shaun Fouché top scored with 44 as Namibia batted out their 50 overs to score 196-9.

England's reply began with a 55 run opening partnership between Savin Perera and Tom Banton, before an unbroken 130 run third wicket partnership between Harry Brook and Will Jacks was what secured them an eight wicket win. Jacks had the top score, scoring 73 from just 44 balls.

Both teams will next be in action on Thursday as Namibia look to end the group stage with a win over Canada, whilst England take on Bangladesh.
