Scotland drew first blood in this encounter by winning the toss and asking Denmark to bat.

The Danes started slowly and had progressed to 43 for the loss of only 1 wicket, Altamish Durani (18) and Shangeev Thanikaithasan (21) seemingly becoming established.

Durani was first to go and when Aliyan Qureshi held a great caught and bowled chance to remove Thanikaithasan the lack of depth in the Danish batting became apparent.

Daniel Kolbaek added 16 late on but the Scottish bowling figures looked impressive: Qureshi 3-25, Dickinson 3-9, Tahir 2-10 and Denmark were finally all out for 107 in exactly 31 overs.

Scotland’s opening pair, Owais Shah and Callum Garden had put on 170 against Ireland just the day before but today both were gone with the total on four.

Angus Hinton was third to go at 22 and the Danes were in fine voice as they urged each other to even greater efforts.

Finlay McCreath and Rory Johnston survived confident lbw and caught behind appeals before the pair sealed the win putting on 67 together before Johnston (27) fell with the score on 89.

Captain James Dickinson hit 2x4 in his 9* and McCreath 7x4 to finish on 48* as the Scots reached their target in 20.4 overs.

The win keeps the Scots run rate intact and although two points behind Ireland in the table their superior run rate will ensure that the remaining fixtures will be keenly contested with the final match between those two sides likely, as it always was, to decide who will be on the plane to New Zealand in the new year.
