An all-round performance from Kathryn Bryce (pictured) saw the East Women defeat the Rest of Scotland Women by 164 runs in the fifty overs Regional Series at New Williamfield Stirling.
Asked to bat first the East opened confidently as Ollie Rae and Sarah Bryce put on 31 for the first wicket against an under strength Rest of Scotland side before Rae (19) was deceived by Wilkinson.
This brought Kathryn Bryce to the crease and the captain batted throughout the remainder innings to finish tantalisingly two runs short of a hundred.
She was well supported by the rest of her team mates as the East finished on an impressive 248 for 7.
Jess Mills with 2 for 34 and Lois Wilkinson with 2 for 32 from their ten over spells were the pick of the Rest attack with Abby Calder, Charlotte Dalton and Rachel Scholes each picking up one wicket.
On the resumption the home side were soon in trouble as Liz Priddle departed for 3 and Charlotte Dalton for a duck with only six runs on the board.
It was a start that they never recovered from as Rachel Scholes (24) and Lois Wilkinson (13) were the only batsmen to reach double figures as the Rest of Scotland slumped to 84 all out in the thirty third over.
Kathryn Bryce followed up her display with the bat by snapping up 3 wickets for 15 runs with Sam Haggo also picking up 3 wickets for 11.
East were worthy winners and the Rest of Scotland have a lot to do before the two sides next meet on the 11th June in the first Regional T20 match.
