Shane Snater has been called up to the Netherlands WCLC squad as cover for Timm van der Gugten, who injured his shoulder fielding in the Netherlands' Intercontinental Cup match against Hong Kong.

Fast bowler van der Gugten was able to bowl only seven overs in the match and was unable to bat after picking up the injury diving to save a boundary in the first innings. He is expected to be sidelined for at least two months, and will depart for his native Australia for treatment before returning to Glamorgan, where he was player of the year last season.

His replacement in the squad for the Netherlands' two crucial WCL Championship fixtures against Hong Kong will be 20 year-old Zimbabwe-born seaming all-rounder Shane Snater, who made his international First Class debut for the Netherlands against Afghanistan in 2016, but has yet to represent the Dutchin the 50-over format.
