Saqib Zulfiqar had been called up as cover for Michael Rippon for the Netherlands Intercontinental Cup match against Hong Kong next month. Zulfiqar has fown out to Dubai to join brother Sikander, Max O'Dowd and Vivian Kingma training at the ICC Academy ahead of the tour.

Rippon will rejoin the squad in Hong Kong ahead of the Netherlands two crucial World Cricket League Championship fixtures, will but miss the Intercontinental Cup fixture having signed up to play for Otago Volts (where former KNCB head coach Anton Roux is assistant coach) in New Zealand's one day competition.

Zulfiqar impressed during the inaugural 3-day challenge last season, hitting an assured 95 for the Hurricanes in their win over the Seafarers.
