Netherlands international Michael Rippon has joined Otago Volts for the coming season. The left arm wrist spinner and occasional opener, who was the Netherlands' stand-out performer in the Desert T20 this week, will fly direct from Dubai to Dunedin today.

Rippon (25) has previously had stints at Western Districts and Sussex, and played for the Netherlands since 2013. He is expected to stay with Otago, where former national team coach Anton Roux is now assistant coach, for the remainder of the season.
