BERRINGTON BLITZ LEADS SCOTLAND TO VICTORY

Richie Berrington's blistering innings helped Scotland to a comfortable 36 run win against local opposition in a warm-up game ahead of the Desert T20 which gets under way this weekend.

Berrington smashed five sixes and two fours in an unbeaten 68 from just 28 deliveries as Scotland posted 170 for 5 in their 20 overs.

Kyle Coetzer made 47 from 36 balls (4 fours, 1 six) before retiring, while Craig Wallace chipped in with 20 (3 fours) in a breezy cameo.

In reply the Bukhatir XI were given a quick start by opener Khalid Shah who cleared the ropes four times and hit 3 fours in an entertaining 43 from just 24 balls.

However he became one of two wickets for the impressive Mark Watt (2-14) as the local side finished on 134 for 5.

Chris Sole came back well from an expensive start to finish with 1 for 30, while Josh Davey (1-28) was the other successful bowler.

Scotland's opening game in the competition is on Saturday against Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
