Oman and the USA have made it two wins from two matches after beating Bermuda and Italy respectively at Woodley Park in Los Angeles on day two of Division Four of the World Cricket League.

There was rain in the air early on that caused delays and interruptions, with a lack of ground staff available to bring the covers on not helping the situation. The rain went pretty quickly though, with play continuing uninterrupted for most of the day.

Rain reduced the Bermuda v Oman game on Severn Field to a 40 over contest, with Oman putting Bermuda into bat after winning the toss, an unsurprising decision given the cloudy conditions early on. Bermuda started well with Kamau Leverock and Dean Minors putting on 72 for the opening wicket.

That opening partnership ended when Leverock was dismissed for 47, and there wasn't any other significant partnership in the whole Bermuda innings. Steven Bremar scored an unbeaten 42, but six Bermuda batsmen were out for single digit scores.

Bermuda's final total from their 40 overs was 173-9. Khawar Ali was the pick of the Omani bowlers with 4-25, Mohammad Nadeem also bowling well with 3-36.

Oman had a little trouble early on in their run chase, losing openers Arun Pulouse and Zeeshan Maqsood within the first three overs with the score on 15. The third wicket pairing of Khawar Ali and Swapnil Khadye got the reply back on track with a partnership of 41.

Jatinder Singh eventually guided Oman to a four wicket victory, scoring an unbeaten 68 from 52 balls.

Over on Wong Field, the Italy v USA game started on time, but was stopped after just one ball and reduced to 41 overs. Italy were batting first having won the toss, and started well with an 118 run opening partnership between Manpreet Singh and Supun Tharanga.

The partnership ended when Thuranga was out for 52, with Singh following soon afterwards for 50. The next highest score was skipper Damian Crowley's 35. The final total for the visitors was 185-5 from their 41 overs. The DLS calculations showed no adjustment to the USA's target.

The USA soon found themselves on the back foot in reply, with the top three all out in single digits, the home side finding themselves on 24-3. They recovered though, largely thanks to an excellent 53 from just 27 balls from Timroy Allen.

Italy, perhaps missing their best player in the previous game Carl Sandri, had the hosts on 131-7 at one point, that Allen innings allowed the USA to put on 46 for the eighth wicket. They did lose nine wickets, but the final partnership just needed two runs in 4.1 overs to win, and they did so in just four balls to win by one wicket.

Monday is a rest day in Los Angeles, with Denmark sitting atop the table on net run rate having also made it two from two with a win over Jersey on Sunday. Denmark will be looking to make it three from three when they take on Bermuda on Tuesday. One 100% record will come to an end as USA take on Oman, whilst Jersey and Italy will both look to secure a first win when they play each other.
