Fiji have followed their 299 run thumping by England in their first Under-19 World Cup match with defeat to Zimbabwe today in Chittagong.
Fijian captain Saimoni Tuitoga won the toss and chose to bat first, the innings starting with a 32 run opening partnership between Jordan Dunham and Tadulala Veitacini. Ten overs later though, Fiji found themselves on 50-8, another heavy defeat looming.
An innings of 19 from Cakacaka Tikoisuva helped them record 81 before they were bowled out. Wesley Madhevere was the pick of the Zimbabwean bowlers with 5-24.
Zimbabwe lost three wickets in their reply, but otherwise had little trouble chasing their low target. Brendan Sly top scored for them with an unbeaten 29 as they completed a seven wicket win with 31.1 overs to spare.
Both teams will next be in action on Sunday when Zimbabwe play England and Fiji take on the West Indies.
