Scotland Women lost a last over thriller against China in the first of their three T20 World Cup warm-up games in Bangkok.
On a difficult pitch which offered prodigious turn while keeping low and slow, the young Scots struggled to 75 for 8 in their 20 overs.
Player/coach Kari Anderson top scored with 20 while Sarah Bryce (10) was the only other Wildcat to reach double figures.
The modest total nearly proved enough as Anderson capped a fine all-round display taking 3 for 9 to reduce China to 47 for 6.
However, China recovered to seal the two wicket win in the last over - helped by the fact that their top four batters each had two innings!
Skipper Abbi Aitken (2-13) and Abtaha Maqsood (1-10) were the other stand-out bowlers.
Scotland's acclimatisation in sweltering Bangkok continues today (TUESDAY) when they face Ireland at TCG.
