Ireland Women continue their preparations for the T20 World Cup Qualifiers when they fly to Spain this week (Thursday) for a training camp.

The Irish will use the top-class facilities at La Manga, benefitting from outdoor training ahead of the crucial tournament.

They have named 14 players for the trip to La Manga, including a new face in the form of Middlesex all-rounder Cath Dalton.

Dalton - a one-time England hopeful - gained her Irish citizenship recently and could well be in line for a spot in Ireland's squad.

Melissa Scott-Hayward is back in contention too, having been named in the travelling party.

One downside is the absence of leg-spinner Elena Tice who has opted out of cricket this year to concentrate on her studies.

Ireland have arranged warm-up games against hosts Thailand and traditional rivals Scotland in Bangkok ahead of the tournament proper which gets under way on November 28th.

Scotland are playing three warm-up matches, with games against China and Zimbabwe as well as the Irish encounter.

The Netherlands meanwhile are travelling to Sri Lanka for three matches to acclimatise for the WCQ which finish on December 5th.
