Half centuries from Harry Tector and Fiachra Tucker helped Ireland beat Scotland by 25 runs as they completed a clean sweep at U17 level for Ireland's cricketers.

Skipper Tector and Tucker both hit 51 as Ireland posted 172 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Ex-Irish international youth cricketer Cameron Shoebridge - now living in Scotland - didn't enjoy the greatest of fortunes against his former team mates, conceding a whopping 44 runs in his four overs, although he did pick up the wickets of Jamie Grassi and Andrew Austin.

In reply, Scotland opener Owais Shah (26) got his side off to a bright start as he struck five boundaries as 36 came in the first three overs.

R Johnston (27) and Finlay MCreath (26) continued the positive start, and at 81 for 1 after 9, the game was in the balance.

Phoenix spinner Ben White however claimed an excellent 2 for 19 in his four over spell as Scotland fell 27 runs short, ending on 147 for 7.

Ireland then top the table winning all six games in the Challenge Series, ahead of Scotland (3 wins) and The Netherlands (0).
